Indivd is selected in a prestigious AI startup mapping
Fredrik Hammargården, Co-founder & Head of Commercialization at Indivd
Indivd has been selected to be included in the curated map “AI Landscape of Sweden”. The map, which is part of a larger mapping within the EU, is intended to serve as a prestigious seal of quality for important European AI Startups.
The Swedish mapping is part of an ongoing European initiative to visualize the European landscape with AI companies in each EU country, and the ambition of the Swedish project group is that the Swedish startup companies should be highly represented on this map.
A stamp of quality
The purpose of the map is to support the growth of AI companies. In a complex area, the map should help guide and give an important signal to innovation ecosystems, investors, authorities, and academia that the chosen companies have a quality-stamp by a highly qualified AI council with representatives from universities, authorities, and companies.
– We want our Swedish startups to be very highly represented on this map. The map serves as a seal of quality for qualified startups, says Stina Lantz, program manager at Ignite Sweden, a national program part of SISP – Swedish Incubators and Science Parks.
In-depth mapping
The project is led by AI Sweden, Ignite Sweden, and RISE, who have spent a long time looking for Sweden’s best AI startup and which they believe will accelerate and contribute to the use of AI applications in the country.
The map has since been approved by an evaluation committee with representatives of investors, large companies, academia, start-ups, and incubators.
– We believe that start-ups will make a big difference to accelerate the Swedish AI ecosystem. Being present on the map will serve as a guide for stakeholders in the private and public sector who want to collaborate with these AI companies, says Katarina Fégeant, project manager at AI Innovation of Sweden.
Joint European initiative
The mapping is part of an ongoing European initiative to visualize a landscape of AI startups in each country. Sweden is working with Germany to create a joint list for both Swedish and German AI startups as early as 2021. In the long run, the idea is to create a common list for the whole of the EU.
